Each piece is uniquely designed by Camilla in consultation with you. Our visual archive of previously commissioned works can also serve as inspiration for your new design.

The process of commissioning a piece of handcrafted jewellery from our workshop typically involves several key steps:

First consultation is generally undertaken via video or phone call. We begin by discussing ideas, and the purpose of the piece. The conversation will include considerations like materials, budget and any specific details or symbolism that you would like to inform the design.

The choice of coloured gold and gemstones is crucial to achieving a successful design outcome. Camilla offers expert advice on the best materials for your piece, considering factors like quality, durability, and aesthetic.

Camilla will create design sketches based on your discussions and provide a price estimate. You’ll have the opportunity to offer feedback, and make any necessary adjustments until you’re happy with the design and cost.

Once the design and materials are finalised, we will provide you with a tax invoice for the commission, and an estimated timeline for completion. A 50% deposit of total invoice price is required to begin construction, with the balance due on completion, prior to delivery.

Camilla will then begin creation of the piece. She handcrafts each item with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality and craftsmanship. The time it takes to craft the piece will depend on its complexity and the availability of materials. We’ll update you regularly with visual documentation of the construction process.

Once the piece is completed, we will organise shipping, or arrange for you to collect in person.

Throughout the entire process, we prioritise clear and easy communication, offering a personalised experience so you feel confident of the outcome and most importantly we enjoy the experience together.

Unless indicated otherwise, all pictured works is previously commissioned jewellery and prices are not included due to the fluctuating price of gold and natural gems.

Our jewellery is handcrafted and the price will vary depending on the quantity and types of gemstones selected, dimensions of piece and complexity of design.

When commissioning jewellery it helps in the design phase if we have a budget. Please refer to the price guide or we can assist with establishing a budget by providing price estimates from individual pictured jewellery on our works page.

We accept bank transfer and major credit cards. Credit card payments will incur a surcharge.

Repurposing gold and gemstones from second-hand jewellery is possible, but individual assessment is required.

The process of repurposing gold and gemstones will incur costs that need to be considered in relation to the net gain and your goals in supplying second-hand materials.

We understand the significance of integrating a sentimental heirloom into a new design, and we will always approach each situation with care and consideration.

We do not buy second-hand jewellery in exchange for a newly commissioned piece.

Removing gems from second-hand jewellery can be irreversible. It’s important to assess the quality of the gems to determine if it’s worth the cost of extraction and resetting.

Our jewellery is meticulously handcrafted using precious materials. Careful maintenance will safeguard the intricate detail and gemstones, for a lifetime of wear.

Gold is soft and gems are easily chipped or broken. We recommend that our jewellery avoid contact with abrasive materials and harsh chemicals.

To reduce the risk of damaging rings, avoid wearing them when using weights at the gym, undertaking manual labor or gardening, or whilst in and around a pool. Please note that rings are most commonly lost while swimming in the sea, as hands shrink in cold water and the water allows rings to easily slip off.

If the piece is damaged, needs resizing or polishing, or a gem breaks, becomes loose, or falls out, please contact us and we can provide you with a quote and arrange repairs.

CLEANING

Shine can be restored to gold using the supplied polishing cloth.

To return sparkle of your gems, soak the jewellery in warm water with a mild detergent. Use a soft, fine-tipped paintbrush to gently clean beneath the setting, removing any dirt and grime.

For pearls, it’s best to avoid contact with perfume and skin products, as they can damage and discolour the lustre. Pearl jewellery should not be immersed in hot water as it can soften adhesive. After wearing pearls, gently wipe them with a soft cloth to remove oils and perspiration.

If you take a camilla gough piece to another jeweller for repair, we cannot take any further responsibility or continue to maintain or repair the particular item.

Hand engraving is a distinctive story-telling element that regularly features in our jewellery designs. Camilla is a skilled artist and able to translate ideas into beautiful, intricate drawings that are expertly integrated into the jewellery piece design.

We collaborate with Ray of London Engraver, who is a master hand engraver of exceptional talent.

We supply natural diamonds and coloured gems and are able to source requested gemstones. Gems that are sourced by us for a design will always be available for approval by the customer.

Camilla, has diamond grading qualifications from GAA and has considerable experience purchasing beautiful, natural gems with a particular focus on coloured diamonds and gems.

We are happy to use supplied gems, and repurposing gemstones from second-hand jewellery is possible, but individual assessment is required.

We have long and trusted relationships with diamond and coloured gem dealers, we do not buy gems from the general public. Our diamond dealers are signatory to the Kimberly Process.
