Hand engraved drawing of river red gum leaves and southern sky stars
Their union was held on a small island in a river and as I pondered the design details for the ring, I spent an afternoon kayaking on the river gliding past the island and its river red gum trees beneath bright winter sun.
It struck me that the island’s quiet, contemplative stillness remains steadfast in its place, while the fullness of city and natural life flows past.
The swirling river of stars flowing past the eucalyptus leaves draped in the river, contain a constellation we calculated would have been present in the southern night sky on the night of their wedding.

It was always bespoke, right from the moment it started, but what struck me most as I recently sat down to express my thoughts about her work was that the most recent ring she made for me is my favourite!
